Nice one.

Another advantage to your exe is that is much easier than editing the registry.

The only advantage to the registry method I can think of is that it will work with DDE but not many apps will require that.

Thanks leo, but in the meantime I have written a small program (see attached file) which also solves the problem. See the readme file inside. (It's freeware).

- cl executes one or more programs contained in the program list of the same name (extension: txt).

- If cl is started with a parameter then cl passes this parameter to the executed program(s).

- Rename cl and create a program list with the same name (MyName.exe, MyName.txt).
- If the program path contains spaces then the path must be surrounded with double quotes.

- Advantages:
- Execute several programs at once.
- Execute a program with the help of cl.exe when the program cannot be started directly.

I don't think it will use them at all. That part of the registry just tells programs like Explorer and Opus what to run when something is double-clicked or opened via Open With.

Once the program is running it'll look at the same parts of the registry that it would look at if you ran it now.

How do I get the full file names in all lister windows to appear. Currently I'm getting a dos like display. See the image but I would like all file names to appear as they do in the right lister window, not the left.

As a side note, am I the only one that finds the captcha requirements for everything here a pain? Captcha has been cracked, so it's not like it is providing effective filtering or anything...

Thank you for the hint, but that's what I want to avoid. With this procedure there could still be some broken references in the registry, because I don't know how the program uses the registry for various other things, potentially using these manually changed entries.

It should be possible but it may take some registry editing.

You have to make a second entry for Audacity.exe under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications, copying the existing one but changing the paths appropriately and giving the copy of the registry settings a different name (of course).

Then find the file extension under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts and add the name of whatever you created to the OpenWithList for the extension.

Thank you very much for the hint, I didn't know that DOpus also allows to modify the 'Open with' list (most programs, like Vista itself, allow only to set the default program for a file type and do not allow to modify the whole 'Open with' list).
I more and more realize that DOpus is really one of the best and most advanced software programs on this planet!!!

However, there is a bug in the 'Open with' editor dialog: For reasons too long to explain here I have TWO installations (because of two different versions) of the program 'Audacity' in two different folders, both programs named 'audacity.exe'. Now, the DOpus 'Open with' editor dialog doesn't allow me to add both programs to the list because DOpus compares them by file-name and not - as it should - by the file-path. So I either have to rename one of the two program files (which I don't want because then all references in the registry and start menu are broken), or write me a small program which passes the command-line to one of the audacity programs and then add this helper program to the 'Open with' editor dialog. Or could anyone provide me a better solution?

If you have a Dual Pane lister then the Edit Status Bar item takes you the wrong place if you've enabled the Dual Status Bar, which I suspect you have. Take a look at the Status Bar (Dual) page next to the Status Bar page.

Upgrading to Opus 9 is the only way I know of.

Whatever the new TSVN is doing to draw its menus with icons enabled, Opus 8 doesn't like it.

I had the same problem after upgrading to TortoiseSVN 1.5.0. Thanks for the fix.

The icons are now missing though.

Here are my results with all four states of that registry entry:

Undefined (the way TSVN 1.5.0 installer left it): Menus are collapsed as in original poster's pics
0: Menus are not collapsed but icons to their left are missing (icons were not missing in pre-1.5.0 version of TSVN)
1: Menus are collapsed (same as if undefined)
2: Menus are collapsed (same as if undefined)

Is there any way to fix this without losing the TSVN icons on the context menu?

P.S. Thanks for helping with this TSVN problem.

right-click statusbar, choose 'edit status bar'. paste Dual layout into pane.

like i said, the preview looks just perfect, but it doesn't change the actual status bar.

the status bar that i can see works just fine. it's the default layout, but it updates as i make selections and change directories.

Hmm, did you change Status bar or Status Bar (Dual), and does it match the type of window you're looking at?

Are you displaying a virtual folder like Desktop or My Computer, or a real directory?
