I'm looking to put up a system in which I need to quickly tag files with 3 possible tags. Is it possible to color or mark the files somehow based on those tags? My purpose is to quickly see which files are tagged by what. I prefer not to use filter to show only specific tags.

You can use filters to highlight files as well as to show/hide them.
