Folder tree lock strange behaviour - bug or a feature

I usualy have Folder tree locked, so it's not in sync with my browsing in file displays. I like it better that way.
Now I've tried to turn off Show Folder Tree header and after that it unlocks. When I turn it back on, it's locked again.
I'm thinking it's some kind of bug.

Also, are you maybe planning to add similar customizable toolbar to Folder tree, like File displays now have?
I could use it to put some buttons in there. Now the header only uses space.

That is by design.

If the header is hidden, the lock is hidden as well, meaning there's no way to lock/unlock the tree or see the lock state, so the tree unlocks and behaves as normal.

If you want to use the tree lock, it has to be visible.

Not currently.

Is it then possible to move this option to Settings so that I can permanently turn it off?

Not currently.

Ok, please write it down for some future update:

The Set TREELOCK command added in 11.15.2 beta lets you do this now.
