It will run if I right click and select open file location

Do you get an error message or anything like that? If so, what does it say?
Be sure to reboot at the end of the update install, if it prompts you to, as the new files will not all be in place until after a reboot.
Please check the installer was fully downloaded, as shown here:
If the installer is OK, we have seen some antivirus block writing new exe/dll files that are not well known to them yet, which could be the problem.

Turned off antivirus
Redownloaded software
Rechecked digital signature, it's fine
ran installer
(still no complete icon on shortcut)
rebooted
same result.. shortcut will not run program
if I right-click and select Run from file location V 12.4 runs
which I guess is okay until you guys have a better idea

IfI right click on the "short-cut"
The program runs (apparently fine)
To be clear:
There is a "short cut" on the desktop named directory opus
It does not have an icon just a blank empty field
if I right click it and select "open file location"
DO V 12.4 runs
I have tried making a new shortcut, no joy there
That means Opus is installed and Explorer Replacement is working.
But the desktop shortcut is the only thing that isn't working?
Delete the shortcut entirely, then re-run the installer and it will probably work from there. That said, the desktop shortcut isn't really needed as you can launch Opus in lots of other more convenient ways; it is just put there for first time users who won't have set up other methods to launch the program yet.
