If you don't like the glass status bar effect which Opus 9 uses on Windows Vista (when Aero glass is enabled) then you can turn it off in Preferences / Display / Status Bar (newer versions of Opus) or Preferences / Listers / Options (older versions).
Type glass into the filter at the bottom-left of Preferences to quickly locate the option.
