20 second freezes while iDrive is synching

Dear support,
I am using Opus for a number of years with no issue at all. Recently I have purchased an online backup and sync solution from idrive and have the following issue:
As soon as sync is synchronizing files with the cloud, opus freezes and takes more than 20 seconds to open a folder.
I have checked windows explorer behaviour and it is not affected.
I am also using other sync softwares but with no effect to opus.
As soon as I stop the sync service, opus is working as usual.

Is there any way to find out what is causing the issue and bypass?
I have searched the forum for relevant issues but was not able to find something similar.

During one or some of the 20 second freezes, could you generate some process snapshots and send them to us? Those should give us a better picture of what's happening, and maybe how to prevent it.

Here's how to make them using Task Manager (no extra tools/downloads needed):

Based on the process snapshots you sent in, the problem is caused by the iDrive shell extension taking a long time to respond when updating folder icons / overlays.

Try disabling anything related to iDrive using the ShellExView (get the 64-bit version) and then reboot.

If that fixes the problem, it should be reported to the iDrive developers (unless they already have an update which fixes it; worth a look first).
