Hi. Is there a difference between the user saved config file between the 32 bit & 64 bit versions of Opus?
My preference config file was originally created in the x86 version of opus (v9.1.0.1), however, I am now using Windows XP x64 version and just installed the 64bit version of opus (v9.1.0.3), now I cannot load the config file created earlier. On the Restore Configuration dialog box I get "Restore Failed".
It should work. There may be something particular about your configuration which causes a problem.
I'd say the best thing to do is contact GPSoftware and offer to send the configuration to them so they can attempt to import it and, if it fails for them as well, debug what is going wrong.
By the way, was the 32-bit version ever installed on the 64-bit machine, or is the 64-bit machine fresh with nothing left over from a different version?
Leo, thanks for the reply. I have just tried the config file on a vanilla install of XP x86 running in Virtual PC, this loaded without incident. The x64 XP installation is a vanilla install as well. My original XP setup that the config file was originally created on had been well customised and could certainly not be considered vanilla. I'll file a bug report.
Even weirder, I have just tried backing up the default configuration in XP x64, and that fails after the progress bar indicates about 75%. Tried backing up to various locations including a FAT formatted USB pen drive!
Problem has now been sorted. I'm not sure why this would affect opus but the computer was setup to dual boot with Vista x64. Have just reinstalled XP x64 and opus x64 and now opus plays ball. Very strange.
