In my enthusiasm to resolve some issues here with DOpus along the way I must have tripped up something-somewhere but I don't know where to back-track to correct ...
When I click on certain extension files: *.text, *.avi, *.mpg, etc they will open using only the DOpus plugin default apps. All my 3rd party apps have been defaulted to using only DOpus.
The most pressing issue is that I can no longer get my chosen text reader/writer (EditPad Pro) to automatically open when I click on a *.text file.
Nothing changed when I tried the following 2 methods:
1 Preferences > File Operations > Double-click on Files > Text viewer (blank for default): C:\Program Files\EditPad Pro\EditPadPro.exe
2 left click on a file, Open With..., (chose app), Always use the selected programme to open this kind of file
If DOpus doesn't recognize the extension file (*.mov, *.torrent, etc) or if DOpus has no default extension plugin then it will open the text DOpus reader in "Hex" view.
Any file needing editing or viewing needs to be literally "drag & dropped" into the 3rd party app.
How do I get my 3rd party apps to open in default mode when I click on a file ... or more pressing, what have I done and how do I undo it?
Cheers.
Nudel - Thanks for answering (No "Drag" capability & "List View" default)
Using DOpus for some time I knew that it had the capability of moving "drag & drop" item(s) without using the clipboard but for some reason this default convenience did not work, making life with Opus a bit on the slow side. But for what it is worth, your answer that I found to Question 1 - worked.
I don't understand why this basic (much needed) function no longer worked after the re-installment. (The only thing different about this re-install is that I upgraded from XP home to XP professional).
My usage of "block & drag" is perhaps an archaic term today, I'm probably aging myself but it comes from WordPerfect (before there was MS Word there was WordPerfect). Perhaps "drag & drop" is a more commonly used term today.
