I just update my windows to Win 10 Fall Creator Update and found glitch / bug on Edit files inside 7-Zip file archive from lister. Step to reproduce:
Create new 7-Zip archive or open any existing archive on any lister
Paste a new file or delete existing file
Suddenly Lister jump to other folder (usually parent folder or previous folder on lister)
From my investigation this only happen on Win 10 Fall Creator update and affecting DOpus 11 and DOpus 12. I don't know what MS done so it's only affect latest windows version and only on 7-Zip archive. Anyone can confirm this?
Yes you doing the same as I do on my machine, but every time I paste or delete it jump to another folder, weird it's isn't affect on your computer. Anyway just want to make sure my Win 10 FCU version is 1709 since based on my investigation only on those version this happen. Anyway how to make such video? Also any idea about this? I can help
Good to hear that you able to reproduce the issues. I hope you and team able to found the root cause. I'm not sure about dual-display mode since I always got those issues. Good luck anyway and as usual you can ask me to test or something else.
I'm running beta 12.7.2 (6615) and - with respect - I don't think it's fixed.
I'm work with a dual lister where in the left hand pane, I have the archive files I want to manipulate. On the right is the folder where I drag the files to in order to resize, before moving back into the archive on the left.
The first link shows an example of the files from the left pane I'm working on - I'm going to work on Beezer comic 1287, so I can resize the images within to take it from 23.6mb to something nearer 5mb.
In the second image, I've opened the archive to show the content.
As soon as I drag the first file (001.jpg) into the right hand pane to work on it, the lister on the left jumps to show the content of an archive I worked on earlier, Beezer comic 1279 - you'll see from the first screen earlier that it's 3 files up on the list.
If I were to drag all the files from the archive of Beezer Comic 1287 out and into the lister on the right hand side, the tab would just display as empty and any trace of the archive I was working on would vanish - I'd have to navigate to it again.
It never used to work like that - I could drag items individually or collectively out of the archive and it would sit there empty waiting for me until I dragged the manipulated files back into it, where it still sat happily until I went back to the root folder. It didn't jump around and didn't just vanish on me.
It'd be great if you could take a look. If you need any further info, please just ask. Thanks.
Edit - after I submitted this, I see I'm down as an Opus 11 Pro user - I'm definitely running a legit 12 Pro! I suspect the original linking of my account is set in stone here. Can't see a way to change it.
If you have more than one Opus licence (i.e. rather than upgrading from 11 to 12 you bought separate 11 and 12 licences) then the forum account might have been linked to the older one.
I've unlinked your account, so you should now be able to go to Account Linking and link it to the Opus 12 code, which you can get via Help > Licence Manager in Opus.
Re the issue itself, I'll wait to see what Jon says, as he knows more about the original issue and fix than I do in this case.
Zip is handled internally, while cbz is handled via a plugin. That's why there is a difference. They are totally separate archive types as far as Opus is concerned.
Thanks both for looking into this and your replies. As well as cbz, cbr is also affected and is a much-used extension with comics. I could change the extensions to zip but I use a program called cbr reader to read them, so I'll hold off in the hope the bug will be squashed in a later release.
