Adobe DNG file types not working/supported correctly

I need advise on dng files displaying under Dopus. My system is Directory Opus 10.5.0.0 running under Windows 8.
When a lister displays files of type Adobe dng it cannot show a preview or thumbnail image also the viewer displays the raw data as characters no picture.
I see that the plugin for the viewer specifically says for theses file types and a early post mentions them an has link to a tutorial and where to download.
These are old. Also the post mentions that Dopus from version 10.0.0 should be compatible straight out of the box with dng files. I believe adobe my have updated their dng specification and maybe that's why it does not display.
I can now get it to work in file explorer by running the adobe codec.
The other point is I also have jpg and tiff among the files and the page of images takes a considerable amount of time to show the previews compared to file explorer that does all quickly as as scroll down the list.
I wanted to see pictures as a sideshow and when the pictures are larger than the monitor screen i expected it to re-size to fit, but it only displays 1:1 at 100% view.
This does not happen in windows's image viewer as it automatically re-sizes images to the screen's resolution.

Please give us a sample DNG file which doesn't display & info on how it was created (source image type, camera model, conversion software and version).

Thanks. Here's a link to my pictures on skydrive.

Created from software vuescan pro. on a Epson perfection 3490 scanner.

Thank you!

I can confirm that those DNG files don't display in Opus, while other DNG files work okay, so there must be something particular about them which is unlike my other test DNG files.

I also checked that the library we use for decoding DNG files can decode them, and it can, so we should be able to fix it.

If you link your account we'll look into this in detail and get it fixed.

Thanks for the confirmation of a problem, The DNG files conforms to the Adobe standard. The Adobe DNG Codec 2.0 can be reached at this page; adobe.com/support/downloads/ ... rm=Windows ; was released on 10/2/2012 not sure if that's February or October. This codec works correctly on them. the white paper specification for DNG is also freely available if that would help in fixing the problem.

All we need if is for you to link your account.

Hi Leo,

I have exactly the same problem - I cannot preview some DNG files with the Opus while in the Adobe camera raw I can view these files. Are you planning to fix this problem?

Best regards, Toller

We will be updating the Raw support at some point. I don't know when yet as we have a lot of other work to do as well.

It will increase in priority if more people asking for it have linked their accounts.

With adobe dng converter (free tool) you can batch convert your raw files even if its already dng. You select a folder and check the option to write a preview image which will show in opus.

The issue with DNG images from an Epson Perfection 3490 (and possibly other sources which triggered the same problem, if any) has been fixed for Opus 11.11.

The fix is not in the current stable or beta, but will be in the updates to come.
