Why not max global productivity trillions of touchpoints per day over less than billion years of Earth's lifespan by improving Directory Opus File Explorer Windows alternative app, when user use mice pointer or keyboard shortcut to switch to desired folder tab in Directory Opus app, the active tab window will have the first folder auto selected and background auto highlighted in blue, so user can quickly locate file or folder by directly typing the first few alphabets of the file/folder title to jump to the desired location and open the file/folder with the "Enter" key. There are also instances where if user sort file/folder by date modified or most recently used item, after switching to the active tab window, he or she can directly hit the "Enter" key to open the desired first auto selected file/folder. This will eliminate the wasted multiple steps from after switching to the active folder tab, where user have to take multiple micro steps, e.g. move user hand/arm to find the mice, move the physical mice around, use eyeballs to locate the white coloured on screen mice pointer which is of similar colour to most app and website background, to then use eyeball tracking, to locate desired file/folder to no avail, then move finger to scroll mice scroll wheel down to find desired file/folder. Although half of the above steps could be skipped, but user still have to use mice pointer to click on a file/folder then move hand from mice onto keyboard to type the first few alphabet of the file/folder title which can be eliminated should everything is done conveniently via keyboard. Please feedback to management.
There are "Automatically select first file" options in Preferences.
Or push Space or Up Arrow to select the first file if the option is off.
Thank you Leo.
Please feedback to development team to consider turning the setting "Automatically select first file" as turned on by default in the Directory Opus installation pack or .exe file/zip file as some or most users are unaware of the feature as they might not go through the plethora of many features one by one. This will improve the scope of usage rates and benefits to max global productivity. Naturally, if user don't want the useful feature, they can turn off in preferences. The key is to turn on by default to max benefits for all stakeholders.
Thanks.
I am part of the development team.
The default won't be changing as it's what most people expect and are used to.
Options are there so you can change them if you need something different to the defaults. If you want it, change the option. You can do that right now without advocating for the defaults to change (which you'd have to wait for even if we did agree about changing them).
