AppData/.../image folder glitch?

I am using Backup/Restore instead of themes to easily switch skins.

Observing the AppData\Roaming\GPSoftware\Directory Opus\Images folder I have noticed 2 things :

  1. The more images in this folder the longer the backup takes to save
  2. Images are being retained in the folder that are not in use by the current skin/theme/settings. The retained images are from previous backups.

I can either delete the unused images , no ill effects there. Or leave them and the backup takes longer (takes up more memory).

What are your thoughts ?

Both things are normal. The config backup backs everything up. The more you backup, the longer it takes. I'm not sure why you'd think they were glitches.

Instead of adding the restored images to the images folder would it not be better to delete the contents first then restore the backed up images ? This would mean only images that are in Preferences/Images are in there.

There is a "completely replace existing config" option when restoring a backup which should do that already.
