When you click on "File, Edit, View, Go, etc." the drop down menus appear as black characters on a white background. Can I change that? It seems that just about all colors are configurable, so I expected I could do that, yet I couldn't find it in the menus. It's not a huge deal since I don't use those as often as the other features, yet the white/black is quite stark compared to my selected color scheme.
I seem to have it set up just the way you do except I've selected a pale bluish green background instead of your yellow. Note that the background behind the Menu bar is the same as the color I selected in the shown dialog box, however when I click the settings menu (as you have done) I get a settings popdown menu with black characters on a white background instead of on my pale bluish green color. This is not the same as your screen captures since your dropdown background color also appears in your selected color. Can anyone see what I'm don'g wrong? (image attached)
As your image show, I think you have selected Office toolbar style. If so, point to Settings -> Prefs -> Display -> Toolbars and select Standard style instead of Office style.
This was an interesting topic for discussion. I took an interest because I wanted to know the answer myself. As it is...what I believe the OP wanted to know is whether customized images can be inherited by the submenus...and as far as I can tell the answer appears to be "no".
The images we see above are those used by DOpus if we subscribe to the "styles" that are built into the program...not when we're able to manually configure the program to use customized images from wallpaper. In this case, the background images and toolbars can inherit the newly installed images, but not the submenus. The submenus you see colored cannot inherit customized images you import into DOpus.
This is my assessment as I see things right now. So when you select toolbar menus like "File", "Edit", "View"...the submenus in this category stay the same no matter what image you use for the background. Unless there is a option that has escaped my attention that addresses this minor issue...I really can't see how this can be done.
New issue. I followed the instructions and although changing the toolbar to "Standard" does the trick...I have a new issue. Why are the icons being pushed offscreen while in Office 2003 mode they're not pushed off?
The icon style in Office 2003 mode seem smaller and fit my laptop monitor specs nicely. When I switch over to Standard...the icons on the toolbar become "bigger" or something or other and they get squished off the toolbar and I have to click the right arrow key to get to those icons.
On the same Preferences page where you can change between Standard and Office 2003 styles there are things which change the button spacing and (when Standard mode is used) the button padding. Change those.
