Autoexec.bat and config.sys not the same as a previous ques

"Windows 7 - autoexec.bat and config.sys Displayed" Windows 7 - autoexec.bat and config.sys Displayed.

I have noticed as also did the poster of the the above link also did the the files are displayed in dopus.
I also noticed that Jon's question of the attribute being S and H was not answered there.
The answer is that on mine it's 'HSA', which I found from window explorer properties. The attributes on Dopus column just say 'a' (as the also do in total commander). Shouldn't Dopus show it as HSA?

I also, under the Dopus preferences configured Dopus so it would not show system or hidden files yet it still does. Also under folder options..filters I select HS yet the still remain visible.
I'm aware these files don't matter I'm just concerned that attributes are not being detected correctly.
Is this a bug in the program or am I misunderstanding something?

Explorer lies about the attributes. If you use a DOS prompt to run the attrib command in C: you'll see those files really only have the permissions that Opus shows for them.

Thanks jon for your prompt reply. This is quite interesting, and begs the question as to whether Explorer 'lies' about attributes on other files, also where is explorer getting its information, certainly these two files would want to be treated as hidden and possibly system files, could Dopus also detect this?

If you want to hide certain files in certain folders, you can do that in Opus via Folder Options -> Filters. I hide a bunch of unwanted junk from my C:\ folder for similar reasons.

But the real question is why you have autoexec.bat and config.sys files on a Windows 7 machine in the first place. I don't think config.sys is used by modern versions of Windows at all, and I think most of what's in autoexec.bat will be ignored except for any lines which set environment variables, and there are better/modern ways to set environment variables which should probably be used instead these days.
