Background color glitchy

I have a Style that, among other things, has a color defined in Settings / Preferences / Layouts and Styles / Styles / [style in question] / Left File Display / Format (ticked) / Edit / Options /Color: grayish). The first time I click on the tab of the particular style, it opens with the default background colour (white), and when I click on it the second time it applies the color in question.

So I have to click on the style tab twice in a row - not a huge deal but it probably isn't meant to work like that.

I thought maybe I have some Folder Options defined for that particular folder (which opens as part of the Style) that somehow interfers with the settings in style, so I went and cleared it - but it didn't help.

Is it a locked tab?

With the file display active, hover the mouse over the format lock to see where the current format is coming from.

Do that the first time you click (with the background one way), then again the second time you click (with the background the other day). Does it say different things in each case?

No, it's not locked (the small lockpad icon is open). I did as I understood your instructions (click on the style tab to activate it, hover the mouse to get the info, click on the same style tab, hover again) - both times the popup says the same thing (I'm attaching the screenshots).

Does the style open folder tabs?

If so, you may need to click the "Tabs" button when editing the style (it's near the "Format" and "Edit" checkbox/button) and apply the background to the format for the individual tab(s) that you want it on.

The style opens only one folder (and puts it in a tab only because I have tabs set to be always active). It is meant to close everything (including the right pane) and open only one folder in a specific way (all of which works as I'd expect).

In any case it should work the same way no matter how many times I click on it (and not show one thing on first click and another on the second click half a second later), shouldn't it?

I can confirm this behaviour. To reproduce it create a style with only File Display=single and Format ticked and the grayisch colour defined. The behaviour only occurs when Folder is also ticked and the defined folder is not the currently active Folder when you call the Style from a button so the display has to change. The colour seems to flicker on shortly before the display reverts to the Standard colour.

That's correct, the colour does flicker a bit before it changes to white - on my end I can clearly see it because the folder that is being scanned is on a network drive, so sometimes it takes a bit before the files appear in the lister (during which I can clearly see the grayish colour).

That should be fixed in 10.0.3.2-beta, which we plan to release in the next week or so.
