Hello,
My question is about Tab Groups backup/restore. Current behaviour is to backup/restore them always.
I use DO at work and at home. Logically, I keep the same settings everywhere. However, I wouldn't like to sync tab groups. It just makes no sense to me. PC's have too different purposes.
Is it possible to move tab groups backup/restore to "Backup local state data" set or create a new option to exclude Tab Groups?
Cheers,
Alex
Tab group config can be found under /dopusdata/TabGroups so you could either manually synch everything except that folder, OR, keep a copy of that folder and restore it after restoring the full config backup.
Thank you, leo, but it's a work-around and not the only one. I wouldn't like to do extra manual actions or create a special script for every backup/restore iteration. My request is still the same...
I've avoided doing work-to-home (and vice-versa) backups for this same reason. There are items at work I don't want at home and items at home I don't want at work. For toolbars, it's easy enough to just have a "Work" toolbar and a "Home" toolbar and switch which one I'm using at each place. But, tabs that belong to specific layouts and using my default layout...I'd really like to not have to swap config files out manually just to work around this limitation.
Layouts and Folder Tabs are both in their own config folders, so are as easy to separate as your Toolbars example, I think. Maybe I'm missing a detail.
I use the same configuration at work and at home. Several extra bookmarks and buttons is not a big deal for me. But tab groups are completely different.
The quickest workaround I've found is to save Groups right after restore before clicking finish button when DO is not yet restarted. But I'd prefer Groups to be treated as Local State data or as a different set.
