Hi, unfortunately the DO image conversion utility does not explicitely allow to convert images from one bit-depth to an other, e.g. BMP 24-bit to BMP 16-bit. Or is there a trick to do this inside DOpus?

You could make a button to do it using ImageMagick.
Why do you need a 16-bpp image, out of interest?
OK, so I'll have to do some button writing ... 
A MSR program (Music Score Recognition, not Mulder/Scully Relationship) cannot process 24-bit BMPs, needs 16-bit BMPs.
