Bug: Print Folder

I just love Directory Opus, but there is a bug that has been annoying me for a long time (for many version back, sorry for not reporting it earlier).

The "Print Folder" command crashes Opus for me when I have the "Print Spooler" service disabled.

Even if I just want to print to the Clipboard I can see that there might be some sense in not beeing able to use this function without the "Print Spooler" service, but it would be nicer if it then just gave me a clean error message and not crashed the application.

Running Win7 64bit

PS. A sidenote: Back in the 80's I used to use a filemanager on the Commodore Amiga called "Opus". Is there any relationship to that old one and this?

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the report.

I spoke to GPSoftware and the problem was easy to identify & fix. Since a new version just went out it might be a while before the fix is released but if it's causing you problems then get in touch with them and I'm sure they'll be happy to send you a special build that includes the fix.

(BTW, this forum is for user-to-user discussion and isn't the official place to report bugs. I was able to reproduce the crash myself so I sent in a report for you but if you want to ensure GPSoftware have an issue on their list you should use the support page I linked above. That said, there's no problem with posting about bugs here -- it's often useful to see what other people experience/think before filing a proper report -- I'm just mentioning it so you know. )

Directory Opus started out on the Amiga back in 1990 so, yep, that's the one. (Unless there was another Opus back then.) The full name has always been Directory Opus but back on the Amiga people often shortened it to just Opus, DOpus, or DirOpus.

The PC version is made by the same people but doesn't share any actual code with the Amiga version.
