Caching thumbnails view?

Is there a way to permanently cache the thumbnails view in a certain folder? I have a folder that I've made thumbnails for all of my stock images (I have hundreds). I'm using the file collections method to house these thumbnails all in one spot (even though they're physically all over the hard drive). Is there a way to cache the thumbnails in this directory so opus doesn't have to work so hard to get thumbnails of all of those files?

You can change which types of folders will be cached, and how big the cache should be (to avoid it overflowing), from Preferences as shown below.

There isn't a way to say that the cached thumbnails for a particular folder should never be discarded but so long as the cache is big enough that should never happen.

(Note that changing preferences in some viewer plugins will cause the cache to be erased to ensure their thumbnails get regenerated with the new settings.)
