Anyone know if favorite folders can be added to the menu toolbar for quick one-click accessing? Similar to a favorites toolbar in a web broser.

not the menu bar, but the menu toolbar...like as icons etc....
Yes they can.
Settings > customize > commands > all commands > favorites list
And have a look here if you want icons: [Favorites List doesn't display Icons)

You can do either.
You can also add individual folders to the toolbar without adding them to the favourites list, if you want separate icons for stuff you use a lot on the toolbar without repeating those things in the favourites menu.
