Can I have DO11 and DO12 Beta installed at the same time so that I can swap between them.

With a full HDD installation, no, only one or the other can be installed.

This is partly due to DLL registration and other registry settings, which can only point to one version or the other.

Also, while Opus 12 can load configuration written by Opus 11, the older version will not understand all the new configuration changes, so swapping back & forth between the two would not work well.

With USB / Portable versions, those are self-contained so you could swap between them.

USB/Portable works the same as it always has. If your certificate allows it, you can create a USB version. You do still need to have it installed on a computer to make (and update) the USB version, however.

But if you are interested in trying Opus 12 beta, I would simply recommend backing up your Opus 11 config and installing Opus 12 normally. If you run into a showstopper you can go back to the Opus 11 installation easily enough until it is fixed. There isn't really any need to jump back & forth between versions.

Have downloaded DO12 and extended certificate.
Have backed up DO11and made a portable version just in case
