DOpus 10 would open .rar files natively (as folders). When I attempt to do the same in DOpus 11, I get the following error:
"An error occurred reading archive 'XXX'. The archive appears to be invalid or damaged."
The archives are NOT invalid or damaged and can be opened with both Winrar 5 and PowerArchiver without any problem. Since most of my file storage consists of .rar files, not being to work with them from within DOpus 11 really slows down my workflow.
Does DOpus 11 handle .rar files differently than DOpus 10? If so, how will it be possible to get back this functionality in DOpus 11?
For some reason the UnRar.DLL does not work for some people. We don't know why yet.
You can make Opus use the 7z.dll for RAR files instead of UnRar.DLL like this:
[ul][li]Go to Preferences / Zip & Other Archives / Archive and VFS Plugins[/li]
[li]Click RAR and then Configure[/li]
[li]Turn off Use UnRar.dll instead of 7z.dll for decompression (required for RAR 5 extraction)[/li][/ul]
You won't be able to open RAR 5 files, but they are still fairly uncommon and the other RAR files should work the same as in Opus 10.
The fix works as you described. Thank you for your quick attention to the problem! Is there a specific place I should check to see when and if the bug is fixed? Most of my .rar files are in the older format, but customers are beginning to send files in the new format, so I'd like to find out when its fixed.
