Can the quick filter text not be reset if changing the filter options?

I'm forever typing in a search expression, then realising I have the wrong quick filter option. Clicking on the gear wheel clears the text immediately. Is it possible to change the filter options without clearing the text? Thanks.

Search text is not cleared for me. DO13.11, Windows 11.

That's interesting. I looked to see whether it's an option in settings but didn't find anything.
