i have used DOpus for many years and several versions, virtually always with dual panes. A single ctrl+tab has always switched between panes. I use this constantly. In v13, the first click opens a pop-up, and then you have to continue to click to move through the lists of multiple tabs. This new function is killing my work flow. Can the old function be recovered? i will reinstall v12 if necessary.
Pressing Tab by itself should switch between the panes just like it always did.
You can change it under Preferences / File Displays / Options / Tab Key.
thank you. i have never used a simple tab to switch panes and was not aware that this function existed.
i have changed the function as suggested. Thank you both. i love this software, but it has way too many options and setting for mere mortals.
You can always pretend the options aren’t there and use the defaults.
Again, thank you both for your assistance with a truly annoying issue. I'll assume that Leo's last comment was a jest. I rarely use default settings for apps since they almost never suit my work patterns.
A few rambling comments:
I am 74 years old, still working full time, and have been programming professionally for 55 years. Mostly industrial controls. Further, i am an old dos dog who avoids pointing devices whenever possible. Keys only for me thanx. That is one thing i like about DOpus. Lots of key based controls.
Presently i am transitioning from an older laptop using DOpus v12 to a new laptop using v13. (Both are licensed.) Referencing the "Keyboard Map..." in either version, there are no items listed for [Tab], [Ctrl]+[Tab], or anything +/with[Tab]. That feels like an oversight. Regarding "Pressing [Tab] by itself should switch between the panes just like it always did." This does work in v13. It does NOT work in v12. Not going to reload older versions just to check.
I have been using DOpus since 2013, v10. A single [Ctrl]+[Tab] has always switched panes. This change in the default functions within v13 (Note i did not say improvement.) is a living example of why i avoid updates. Same old, same old, works well for me. Yes, i am a modern Luddite.
The first thing i launch after bootup is DOpus. (I intentionally do not auto-launch it.) It is my primary tool for HDH (Hard Drive Hygiene.). This allows me to keep 38 years of well organized work on my internal drive. In my work, this is critical. This wonderful software has made my life substantially easier since i discovered it, and i highly recommend it to anyone.
Good one!
