Can you create a toolbar button to toggle a toobar on or off

Hi,

Is it possible to create a custom toolbar button to toggle a toolbar or the or the thumbnail sizer on or off?

I have a created a custom toolbar with just the thumbnail sizer on and at the moment I have to toggle it on or off via the toolbar context menu - just wondering if there is an easier way.
