Can't change description of .msi files

DOpus 10.5.4.0 Win7 x64 - can't change description of .msi files

I use the Set Description command on programs I've downloaded to help find them later:

This works great, except on MSI files, which initially appear to work, as shown here.

However, as soon as I hit Refresh (F5), the Description changes back to the Comments found in the MSI file's metadata:

If I try to set the description again, the dialog only shows the Comments, so what I typed is lost.

Interestingly, what I typed is still in the descript.ion file - DOpus just won't display it:

The file used in this example is from here, but any MSI with an embedded comment will cause the same behavior. It doesn't happen to any other file type.

Is it possible to get this bizarre behavior fixed in the next release? :opussanta:

Is Preferences / Folders / Folder Behaviour / Use 'descript.ion' file comments system instead of NTFS comments turned on or off?

What type of drive is it happening on (local NTFS drive, or something else)?

Use 'descript.ion' option is turned on:

It is happening on NTFS and FAT32 local drives, removable drives and network drives.

If you turn that off then it should work (although note that it will modify the MSI files themselves as the descriptions are stored inside MSI files).

I'm not sure exactly why it isn't working with descript.ion comments enabled but, from a brief look, the descript.ion comment is being loaded but then immediately replaced by the comment embedded in the MSI file itself.

If you link your account then we'll be more likely to look into this in detail.

Yeah turning that off isn't really an option, as I would never want to modify the MSI files themselves.

I have now linked my account. This looks like a very simple bug so I hope it can be fixed in the next release. Thanks for your help Leo

This should be fixed in the next update.

That's great news - thanks jon!
