i copy/pasted a status bar config that i found here in the forum into the status bar edit window. the preview updated immediately, but when i hit 'apply', the actual stats bars did not change. i restarted the app, but the status bars remained in their default state. i went back into the editor and the new code was still there.
what have i doe wrong?
Are you displaying a virtual folder like Desktop or My Computer, or a real directory?
it is the same with any directory i view, it simply won't change...
Hmm, did you change Status bar or Status Bar (Dual), and does it match the type of window you're looking at?
right-click statusbar, choose 'edit status bar'. paste Dual layout into pane.
like i said, the preview looks just perfect, but it doesn't change the actual status bar.
the status bar that i can see works just fine. it's the default layout, but it updates as i make selections and change directories.
If you have a Dual Pane lister then the Edit Status Bar item takes you the wrong place if you've enabled the Dual Status Bar, which I suspect you have. Take a look at the Status Bar (Dual) page next to the Status Bar page.

the preview image for single statusbar shows dual statusbars, what's what confused me.
It'll do that if you paste in codes for a dual status bar.
