Can't paste variables into Tab Rename field

Hi... well, you CAN paste text into the field once you enter Tab rename... but (for instance) if you try pasting something like %p into the tab rename field, it just doesn't work. No tabe name change happens. Entering back into rename for that tab and manually typing %p of course works fine.

This is just an example... but if you've got a longer string that you'd like to apply to several tabs - it would be kind of a pain to have to manually retype the variable string when it'd be so much easier to paste the text. Of course, it's not that likely that people will have really long strings to want to put in the space of a folder tab - but still...

Can't reproduce this sorry.

Bogus report...

It just so happens to be that when I was using <Ctrl+V> to paste the "%p" string into the rename field - I wasn't pressing - I was just clicking into empty lister white space - I guess 'canceling' my rename... Woops.

But this is inconsistent behavior. When changing file name, clicking into white space applies name change.

Agreed. I seldom have occasion to rename a tab but this anomaly catches me every time as I am used to clicking in white space to make the change for a file/folder rename.

Yeah, I guess because when I'm <Ctrl+V> pasting... only my left hand is on the keyboard - with my right still on teh mouse. So similar to you both it was just sort of ~natural for me to click the mouse in white space ftare pasting my rename string.

When I was typing it in manually, both hands were on the keyboard so it was more ~natural for me to hit

...and so the difference in behavior, just for a different reason than I thought .

Hardly something to take precedence over other fixes and enhancements that are time better spent - but just the same, I'd certainly prefer the only thing to ~cancel the tab rename to be hitting the key, and to let clicks on other parts of the UI (white space, FDB, toolbar, whatever - etc) allow the change to be actioned...

Fixed in 10.2.0.8. Thanks! Great service.
