Can't preview pdf files

Hello, I'm using Opus Dir Version 12 and can't preview pdf files. I have foxit phantom on my computer, and also Quickview Plus 13 on my PC. What do I need to do to be able to preview pdf files?

Thanks.

Does previewing the same files work in File Explorer? It will use the same viewer, if there is a working one installed.

If it doesn't work there either then you probably need to install (or repair) some PDF software that includes a preview handler. I'm not familiar with Foxit Phantom (compared to other versions of Foxit I've used in the past), but Foxit seem to have support pages about this which may help.

QuickView Plus used to include preview handlers but more recent versions only offer a standalone viewer application which cannot be used inside of anything else, making it less useful.

The best thing to do is get things working in File Explorer (or MS Outlook) and then they should also work in Opus as well. If they work in Explorer but not Opus, let us know and we can assist.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, pdf's preview fine in win explorer but not in Opus.

If you go to Preferences / Viewer / Plugins, select ActiveX + Preview + Office + Web and click Configure, is there a PDF viewer listed in the section at the top?

Is the .pdf extension assigned to it?

Thanks for the additional reply. I had foxit pdf previewer32 bit selected, but adobe pdf 32 bit was not selected. I selected Adobe pdf 32 bit, restarted Opus Directory, and it still won't preview pdf files. I notice that the file extensions box is empty, but it won't let me add any extensions to it.

You add file extensions on the right. Select the viewer, then on the right type in the extension you want to add, and click Add. Then click OK or Apply.

If that still doesn't work, please paste a screenshot of what you see in a reply.

That was it. I had to add the pdf extenion to the handle. Thank you.
