Case Sensitivity in FTP Syncronise

Hi there,

I don't think this can be done currently but is there anyway to force the sycronise facility, when using FTP to ignore filename case?

At first I thought this was a bug but I realise now that Opus can't know if the FTP server is on a Unix or Windows machine.

Basically my issue is that I have some files on the remote FTP server like this:

image1-M.jpg
image2.M.jpg

Yet on my local system due to renaming they are now:

image1-m.jpg
image2-m.jpg

Therefore, as Opus has to be aware of filename case it considers these are new files on every sync. This means I have to manually removes files from the copy or just sync the same files over and over.

It would be really useful to have a 'ignore filename case' as an option on the sync panel. Or to be able to specify the OS the FTP server is on.

Any thoughts?

Let me know if this can be done already.

Assuming there is no way to get around this for now then?

Any chance of a server type or case sensitivity override for the FTP synchronise to be added?

An option probably makes sense and is something we'll keep in mind.

(BTW, if you link your account then it'll give your requests more weight.)

Hi Leo,

Thanks for the link - have just linked my account. I didn't know that existed.

Yeah I think either a server type option on the FTP entry (would make it transparent) or a checkbox on the syncronisation would sort it. I'd probably err towards the first option maybe with some kind of text confirmation on the syncronise panel to reinforce what the target FTP server is based on the setting.

Appreciate the response - thanks.

Thanks for linking.

Yes, I was thinking along the same lines.
