Change in display of filename in Thumbnail-Mode

Hi,

I have updated to 10.x months ago coming from 9.x but only now stumbled above a different behaviour regarding the way the filename is displayed in thumbnail mode.

In the 9.x version I was able to click once on the thumbnail to see its complete filename. The name would just overlap on other files if needed:

Now in 10.x clicking on the the thumbnail doesn't work the same way anymore:

Is there a setting I need to alter to get back to the former way? I find it very ennoying to not be able to quickly see the filename. What I do now, as a workaround, is calling [F2] as if I wanted to rename the filename since then the whole name is made available...

Thanks for any hint!

Turn off Preferences / Display / Options / Use visual style to draw items (Vista/Win7 only, overrides selection colors) to get the old behaviour.

Thanks! This was the correct setting. I'd never have been able to find this out just by the name of the setting...

A pity that after unchecking that setting the drawing of the files in the lister is really much less appealing... :-/

I guess, I'll have to choose my poison or switch the setting each time I turn to thumbnail-mode...

You could add the filenames to the infotips that appear when you hover over things, if you want.

Wow! I can do that? Can you lead me toward this setting? THANKS!

Ok I found it!

THAT, is the perfect solution! I had no idea I could alter the tooltips!
