Is there a way to do it?
You can change the icon color, but only if the taskbar is set not to combine.
The background colour is generated by Windows and not directly in our control.

How do I change the icon color than (it's combine when full, and most of the time not combined) ?
Actually I'd be happy if I can get the 1st yellow icon to stay on for all windows (and not get a different color icon for each window).
You can change the color of the icon in the different modes via Preferences / Display / Colors and Fonts: File display icon.
