Changing Colors

Hi,

I have problems persuading my statusbar to use the colors i told under "Preferences/Display/Color&Fonts/Other Colors/Status Bar". Whatever I change, the Statusbar remains gray...

Further: Can I change the color of "input fields" (Command Prompt, Pathbar, ...)? I didn't find any option for this...

Thanks for any hint!

I'm not sure why that is. So long as Use system colors is not checked it should use the Text and Background colours you have specified. (And if Use system colors is checked you can't specify the colours, so presumably it isn't.)

They use the system-wide colours so, yes, you can change them via Control Panel -> Display -> Appearance -> Advanced. Of course, this will change the way all applications look, not just Opus.

Ok, but can you reprocude this? Has anyone been able to change these colors? The Text color is the only thing I was able to alter, the background stays gray. Can this be due to any statusbar-formatting? I haven´t seen any code to change the background color, the colors I can use there (similar to HTML) do only change the font, isn't it?

I was afraid of this answer... I was already assuming it... Too bad... :frowning:

Yes. See the screenshot below.

Not that I know of, but you might as well try resetting your status bar to the default format to double-check that. You can paste in your old format again afterwards.

Did that already... Even the original settings won't work... Still grey... Only my font changes color... strange... Seeing you screenshot frustrates me even more... Now I know it can be done. So I'll have to delve again in the depths of the customizing options... :unamused:

Tried everything I found which had to do with statusbar...

Still no clue (using 9.1.0.1.2947 on WIN XP SP2 with Xp-Style turned on) :frowning: :frowning:

Could you post a screenshot of your lister, and the preferences page? Maybe there will be something in it that makes the problem jump out if one of us sees it. There could be something I'm just not thinking of.

Here my screenshots... Didn't really know which pages from the Preferences Dialog you really needed though...

I want the Statusbar to be as green as the listerbackground:

These are my settings:

Any idea? Need more informations?

I can't think of anything else...

Try this: Go to Settings -> Backup & Restore and make a full backup of your configuration.

Then go to Preferences and use the File menu (top-left of the dialog) and Reset All To Defaults. Do the colours change now?

You can restore your config backup afterwards to get back to where you were.

Show us the string you're using in the status bar to display the information - perhaps something in that is screwing things up.

Here you go:

"{dletL}": {h!}<#FF0000>({hiL} Dateien versteckt!){h!}<#000000> {tdL} folders and {tfL} files / Selected: {sdL} folders and {sfL} files ({sbaL}) ({dfL} free {bgL}){wleft} "{dletR}":{h!}<#FF0000>({hiR} Dateien versteckt!){h!}{h!}<#000000> {tdR} folders and {tfR} files / Selected: {sdR} folders and {sfR} files ({sbaR}) ({dfR} free {bgR})

Anything wrong/odd?

I don't think it's the codes themselves since they work for me.

One thing that is odd, though... In your screenshot the free-space bar graph has adopted the green colours that you want to use for the status bar, but for me it's the default blue. Or was your screenshot above made when your status bar codes were different to the ones you posted and set the bar background colour?

You statusbar looks good  I wish mine would act like yours... :frowning:

These were the exacts codes. The green-color of the free-space-bar was set using "Display / Colors & Fonts / Other Colors / Graphs / relative size graphs"

I use dual lister, you´re screenshot looks to me like a single lister...

Further: How can I set the color to "default"? I use the color red for hidden files and the black for the rest. How can I tell to use the color defined for text in statusbar in the preferences if it's not black?

a blank image configured in preferences/Display - Images for statusbar ?

YOU ARE A TRUE GENIUS! That was the problem!!! I had no idea of this otion... Thanks!

Tu es vraiment UN GÉNIE! C´était exactement le probleme! Je ne connaissais cettte option... Merci beaucoup et bonjour à Paris!

no no no i'm not a genius... but DO is too powerfull !!!!!!!!!

It still have this question though:

Like this:

<#ff0000>This will be in Red</#> This will be back in the default colour

Nice catch AlbatorIV!

Was it literally a grey image that was assigned to the status bar? AFAIK there isn't an image assigned to it by default. Maybe it came from a theme that you tried out or something. Glad the mystery is over anyway!

Ok, thank for "</#>"...

Yes, it looked like remnants of a theme i hat tried "years" ago... There were other images left there too.

I removed them all, now everything works like a charm...

@all: thanks for helping me sort this thing out!

I have the same problem and the trick with blank picture does not help... :frowning:

I unchecked "use system colors" but I am able to change the font color only - background always remain the same. Mine is black as I have the black theme applied in my Vista.

That must be a sort of system issue...
