Changing colour of individual file or folder

I've ran search engine and found this thread from 2005 [url]Color labels like OS X] where [quote="leo"]...but you can't change the label colour for individual files or folders.[/quote] Is there a change?

Yes, labels can change icon colors now, for both files and folders.

See File and Folder Labels.
