Closing or minimizing last lister hides floating toolbars?

I bet I am doing something incredibly stupid, but here's my problem:
When I close the last open lister, or when I minimize all open listers, my floating toolbar is hidden automatically! It is a simple non-docked floating toolbar with "locked position." I would have expected any floating toolbar to be independent of the listers. Why should its state depend on whether the last lister is closed or minimized? Can this behaviour be disabled somehow?

The reason I am asking is that I was trying to use a floating toolbar as a "dock" style program launcher, similar to quicklaunch on the taskbar, but somewhere else on the screen, and with all of dopus' power. It would allow me to launch various tools and other programs from it, without having to install a separate dock tool. I think the manual explicitly states this as a use for floating toolbars. But if it constantly pops out of view, this usage scenario turns out to be quite useless

Do you have Preferences / Launching Opus / Startup / Shutdown Directory Opus when the last Lister closes turned on?

Hmm nevermind, the behaviour just stopped. No clue what I did, but now it behaves correctly. Sorry for the hubbub.

@jon: no that option was off. I wish I could reproduce the behaviour, but it seems to have fixed itself after restarting dopus...
