Copy File Path from Server

Hi,

I need to copy the full path of a file or folder from the works server.

The server name is: //cormsfszxxx01/shared

And the structure looks something like this...

//cormsfszxxx01/shared/cad/
//cormsfszxxx01/shared/job 1/
//cormsfszxxx01/shared/job 2/
//cormsfszxxx01/shared/job 3/

I have the path "//cormsfszxxx01/shared/cad/" mapped to the drive letter K.

When I use "Clipboard COPYNAMES=unc" to copy the file path to the clipboard, it is copied as "K:\cad" just as expected. Is there any way I can get DO to copy the full path instead (i.e. "//cormsfszxxx01/shared/cad/") ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

That's exactly what Clipboard COPYNAMES=unc does (at least here).

Make sure it's running "unc" and not "url", which looks similar but does something else.

Damn, it works as expected now. I played around with this for what seems like hours and it failed to work. Now that you mention it, it works perfectly... strange!!!

Thanks Leo.

Is it possible for the clipboard to collect the path names in lower case only?

not that I know of... I imagine it copies the path exactly as the server sends it. I think you'd have to either script it or submit a feature request. Maybe the could create a Clipboard COPYNAMES=unc,lower|upper type switch for it.

Oh well, shame. Thanks for your reply. I will send in a feature request.
