Copy & Paste from subfolder in Flat View

Noticed that when displaying files* only and when copying a file (ctrl-c/v) the word (Copy) is not added to the filename, as it normally is.

Found out that this is because the file is stored in the parent folder, rather than in the same folder, i.e.
in the below example, for instance, the Paragon manual (source) is stored in
x:\pdf\software\paragon - whereas the copy is then stored in x:\pdf\software.

Maybe this is correct, I don't know.
It is a minor thing only.

p.s. I tried to submit this thread using the following title:
Copy file in "FLATVIEW=Toggle,MixedNoFolders'-mode copy stored elsewhere
but that was rejected 'Title seems unclear, is it a complete sentence?' with only the [OK] button.

If you paste (ctrl-v), the thing in the clipboard goes into the current folder that the window is at, the one in the location field above the file display.

So nothing unexpected is happening there. In fact this is something people often do on purpose in flat view (to copy/move from subfolders to a parent).

There are commands to duplicate files where they are, even in flat view mode, if needed. (Duplicate should do it, if I remember correctly.) Ctrl-c/ctrl-v is the wrong tool for the job if you want to do that in flat view.

All clear and many thanks for the explanation.
Did not expect I would hit on some anomaly...
