Since the Opus9 announcement thread is closed, I have to do this in a seperate post: The following lines make me jump for joy:
With the work that needed to be done for Vista compatibility I am surprised how many new features made it into this upgrade. Regarding the queue, I knew from the start that implementing this would mean turning the whole copy code inside out and I did not expect it to be in the Vista upgrade release. So announcing it for the next update is one of my biggest "features" of the current release.
As for the the new features already included in this release I must say that you really listen to suggestions:
[ul]- From the "MD5 checksum mode is now much faster" I suppose my ideas regarding this were just "Agreed." upon [/ul][ul]- Telling about the Eclipse preferences seems to have brought us the filter for the prefs window.[/ul]Good work. Expect two licence upgrades plus USB option to be bought from my side very soon. Several friends will certainly follow...
Discussion Forums work much better when threads stick to one topic. A little topic branching is okay from time-to-time. But that thread was locked, so users would be encouraged to start topic-specific threads in appropriate under forums where others could see the topics and participate in them. You just putting the theory into practice, congratulations!
GP Software, in my experience, is one of the most adaptive software companies I have every had the pleasure to work with. They strive to do as much as they can, and as well as they can. They consistently under-promise and over-deliver. They might not not have gotten to everything people suggested, but they did get a lot of new good stuff in this release. And they fixed many many issues. And they did all this while contending with changes to Vista.
We Opus users tend to be very demanding and forward-thinking. So Jon and Greg are very hard pressed to keep all of us satisfied. But you have to give them credit for making the price of an upgrade well worth it.
