Hello.
Regarding to IDs 729, 731, 737...
Any .cr2 file with portrait ONLY orientation crashes Opus. Landscape pictures opens well. Thumbnails are OK for all files (portrait and landscape).
I just literally double-click the image and it crashes immediately, no crops or something.
If you can, please zip an example image and sent it to us so we can investigate.
_MG_9693.7z (14.7 MB)
not only this file. any other portrait oriented .cr2 too.
opens as it:
Works fine here, like all my own .cr2 images in portrait.
Directory Opus 13.22.12.0 build 9477 english
Windows 11 25H2 build 26200.8328 (AMD64)
Intel CPU, no GPU.
Could you also paste the settings for the Raw Digital Camera plugin (Preferences / Viewer / Plugins) from the Raw Viewers page?
Also, do you have any scripts installed that modify the viewer in some way? The crash itself is in a function that shouldn't even be running immediately after the viewer opens, which makes it look like you might have a script that's doing something in response to a new viewer being created.
Sorry, what do you mean by "after changing to Default"?
I tried copying the settings shown in your screenshots but no crash ![]()
in screenshots a profile is "Samsung..."
changing to "Default" profile doesn't help in any way
p.s. 13.22.2 opens well (sometimes, 2 of 3), 13.22.3 crashes.
13.22 stable doesn't crash
And the scripts question?
no special scripts for viewer
What happens if you use the Image Convert tool to convert the .cr2 file to a .jpg?
Does viewing the JPEG file work ok?
The weird thing is your thumbnail shows that the image data hasn't been rotated (the image itself is landscape, but its orientation tag is set to make it portrait), but the image dimensions have (which is presumably why there's a blank area at the bottom).
This is what the image is supposed to look like:
And this is what it looks like without EXIF auto-rotation turned on:
I can't work out what could cause the image dimensionts to be rotated but not the image data itself, but I'm assuming whatever's triggering it is what's causing the crash you're seeing.
this is an image converter preview of .cr2
and this is a convertion result (jpg opens without crash):
any other soft opens well (Photoshop, XnView, even PDF XChange)
and yes, without auto-rotation .cr2 opens in Opus well, but landscaped.
thus .cr2 opens in viewer pane (looks well without any crash):
Could you send us the converted JPG file?
Thanks for your patience, I've finally worked it out. It's triggered by having the Automatic option turned on underneath Preferences / Colours and Fonts / Directory Opus Colours / [Other Colours] Viewer.
Will be fixed in the next beta, if you want a workaround now turning that option off should fix it.
yes, that was an issue
(and another issue with Quick Show was that some images only showed a black area).
fixed when "automatic" is turned off
fixed in 13.23.1.
thanks a lot
