My Edit/crop menu is greyed out when I am viewing an image. Why?

You have to select the area you want before the crop option becomes available.

Shift-click + drag, or click+drag, will do it, depending on your configuration.

  1. OK, but there are no corner handles to get the selection just right. Is there an option to give that?

  2. I'd like it to be click+drag. What configuration options do I need to set for that.

  1. Not currently. It's fairly basic.

  2. Preferences / Viewer / Mouse Buttons, set the left button to Select Clipboard Region.

Leo, thanks for your help. After considering it all carefull, I have opted to untick the Internal Picture Viewer option and then install the old Microsoft Picture Manager and make it the Windows default picture viewer. So far that seems to meet my needs. Again, thanks for your help.
