Custom Icons from Explorer Extensions not quite right

I use TortoiseCVS 1.8.9 and it adds custom icons (or I guess really an overlay) to files/folder that have CVS type information attached.

Well, with 8.0.1.1, not working quite right. Gets some of the icons correct, others have a hand.

This does work with correctly with Explorer, so don't think it is a Tortoise issue, but that is hardly conclusive.

This might be related to the shortcut overlay problem in 8.0.1.1.

See the forum topic "Shortcut Icon arrow changed to Open Hand"

Hi,

Warning: Tortoise context menus are totally f*** up with dopus: some entries are present twice, some entries do not do what is expected,...

=> I removed some dirs without wanting it because of that !

You can try to add the registry key: KCU\Software\TortoiseSVN\OwnerdrawnMenus and set it to a DWORD of value 2.

You will loose the nice icons in the menu items but it fixes the problem here...

I hope Greg. will find a way to support Tortoise correctly.

Leo.

The Tortoise menus work fine with Opus for me. I'm using Tortoise CVS version 1.8.2 and haven't changed the OwnerDrawMenus setting.

Ok, but are the icons working for you in Explorer itself. The ones that visually let you know the status of the file. This behaves just like the shortcut being added to icons that are really shortcuts. And this has been reported broken, so I suspect same issue here.

Some of the files get the hand overlay (similar to shortcuts) as a result of the Opus 8.0.1.1 bug, but the menus work fine for me.

As far as I know, the bug introduced in 8.0.1.1 only affects icons and is probably the result of changes made to load icons in the background rather than as the directory is displayed.
