How to make pictures default to thumbnails（T）; other files default to details(D)？
You can use Content Types for that, if the aim is to automatically switch to thumbnails mode if you change to a folder which is mostly images.
You can also save formats for particular folder paths, or path wildcards, if you want to explicitly define which folders display in which modes, without relying on a percentage of the files being a particular type.
