Hello.
I created a backup file while using a trial version of dopus11 early last year. I really liked using dopus, but couldn't afford it then, so now that I want to buy it, I thought I would try out the newer v12 first.
However, the first thing I did was restore that backup, which changed everything I saw in the original v12 default lister. I really wanted to check out v12 from the original default lister, but my new default from the backup is too familiar and presumably old.
Is there a way to open an original default lister, while keeping my backup version?
i just tested for you
quit dopus load windows explorer then just rename
AppData\Roaming\GPSoftware\Directory Opus
to say AppData\Roaming\GPSoftware\Directory Opus-backup
then reload dopus and it will be like running it for the first time
when your done playing just rename Directory Opus-backup to Directory Opus that way you can play all you like
to find appdata folder https://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/appdata-folder-windows-10/
well that seems simple enough, thanks very much.
here is a tip for you.. add your AppData\Roaming\GPSoftware folder to dopus favourites then you can get back there easily .. to make changes ... and you can try out all sorts of things... themes, an all new set up with no worries ... i know there is also an alias to do this too but can't remember atm
If you want to keep your "backup" version, you can use the Back and Restore option at the bottom of the Settings menu. The backup automatically includes all Preferences, Toolbars, Hotkeys, Filetypes, and other configuration settings (it tells you this on the final page of the backup).
To clear all settings back to default, go to Settings > Preferences. In that window, click the File menu and choose Reset All To Defaults
. See screenshot below.
DOpus has a shortcut (technically called an alias) to the folder @wobbly was talking about. In the breadcrumb field, type /dopusdata
and it will take you there. To see all aliases, just type a / and it will display a dropdown with a lot of built-in aliases. Note that you can add your own, too. (The breadcrumb field is the field usually right above your lister that shows which folder your lister is displaying. Default keyboard shortcuts to go into that field are F4 or Alt+D.)
Also, if you want to reset all Toolbars back to factory defaults, you can right-click on an empty portion of a toolbar (note the menu bar is technically also a toolbar, so you can right-click on a space to the right of the last menu), then go to Toolbars > Factory Reset Toolbars.
