After I save the default lister. New listers open with an old group that I have deleted. How do I save the default lister along with the tab group I have set up?
Are you sure you are opening the default lister?
How are you opening the window when you open a new one?
click on the desktop
What is Preferences / Launching Opus / From the Desktop set to?
When you save the default lister, are you using Settings > Set as Default Lister, or something else?
I've reverted to the "Dear Opus" Setup. Seems to be working fine.
Do you recommend their setup?
Ok I set it back again. When I click on the desktop to open a new window. The old tab group which I deleted shows up every time.
The webpage it comes from is a good overview of things you can do in Opus, but we don't recommend loading the config from it if you are a new user. Using a non-standard config will make things harder for you since a lot of the documentation and advice about Opus will no longer apply, with everything in different places and lots of settings changed.
Custom configs are fine if you set them up yourself, as you will know what you have made different and what is still the same. On the other hand, if you've just loaded someone else's entire config (which includes all their custom toolbars and hotkeys, random Preferences settings changes, etc.), you will have no idea what is normal and what is custom (and neither will we when trying to help!).
(The config also does not really contain much that is not already part of the default configuration; it's mostly just rearranged.)
Going back to the main problem, could you answer my questions from earlier:

Hi,
I had From desktop was set to - Open a saved lister layout.
I changed it to is now set to - Open default lister. Working fine.
Also I unchecked all the folder formats.
I'm still not sure how they work along with folder groups when saving individual directory layouts.
