Hi,
Using Directory Opus 9.5.1.0.3624.x86 on Windows 7 Enterprise x86, I've found "Delete EMPTYRECYCLE" (assigned to a toolbar button) doesn't always empty the recycle bin(s) as expected. The conditions where it doesn't work, as far as I can tell, are listed below:
-
One or more partitions are accessed through a NTFS junction instead of a drive letter. IOW, they are mounted as folders, not drives. You can do that with Windows' Disk Management applet.
-
Files on such partitions have been deleted, and NO FILES from other partitions (those with a drive letter) have been deleted.
Under such conditions, pressing the button doesn't work. The files remain in the recycle bin afterward.
Note that both conditions have to be true. If a partition has a drive letter besides the NTFS junction access point, it doesn't qualify. (I.e., "Delete EMPTYRECYCLE" still works.) If there are files deleted from partitions with a drive letter, the command also works. In that case, all recycle bins are cleaned properly, including those on junctioned partitions.
I have several such partitions on my system, and the behavior is consistent with all of them.
Hope that's clear enough.
