Delete REMOVECOLLECTION Doesn't remove folders

I tried stting up some collections but decided libraries would be better for my needs. Now my problem is removing thousands of folders from the collections...

I can only remove files, navigating to subfolders, selecting all files and remove from collection works

Selecting a folder and remove from collection does nothing.

I hope this is just a bug and eventually I'll be able to select the top collection folder and remove everything.

It works fine, but only works on directories added to collections as members (i.e. the collection just has an item that points at the real directory).

If you have created sub-collections instead, those need to be deleted rather than removed. (But be careful not to delete actual directories).

The icons, and the Type and Location columns, can help you tell which is which, if you are not sure:

The easiest thing to do is go to coll:// where the top-level collection(s) will be, select all, and delete. That will clear all your collections without deleting any real files/folders:

Thanks and to check because the manual says:

" When you delete a file in a collection, not only is it removed from the collection but the real file is deleted. To remove a file from a collection without deleting the real file, use the Remove From Collection command on the Delete drop-down menu."

Deletong a folder is totally safe? I have about 30TB of data in my collections, most of it unreplaceable.

Deleting a folder will delete the folder. You don't want to do that.

But it sounds like you have a sub-collection, not a folder.

How to check what it is, and how to deal with each thing, is detailed in my reply above.
