Description auto populated? (kind of)

I've recently started utilizing the description column (and corresponding descript.ion file) for keeping short notes about various versions of files. I've noticed that some files - like images - "automatically" display information in the description column, for example a .png image displays the following:

329 x 328 x 24 PNG Image

If I add a description, this is what I see:

This is my comment - 329 x 328 x 24 PNG Image

Is there any way to have the description column only show descriptions and not this extra stuff?

I've searched the preferences dialog and the forum and wasn't able to find any information...

No way at the moment, sorry.

I have reason to believe this is now possible.
I turned this feature off some time ago (though not anywhere near 2010) now I want to turn it back on again
Any idea what button I need to press?

Try the user comment column.

Thank you Leo. I think that is indeed how I solved that.
For benefit of others I have come up with a slightly better solution - set an Info Tip for the Description field
