For some reason, some (but not all) of my folders have a pretty pink color. Others have the regular black.

Preferences -> Folders & Recent -> Folder Colors?
Or it could be that they are system folders. That's much more likely in fact.
You can change how system folders are coloured (or turn off special colouring of them) under Preferences -> Display -> Colors & Fonts.
I guess that should be Favorites & Recent, right?
