Hey,
I was wondering if you could have one screenname in windows that users Dopus as the primary explorer but another one that uses standard explorer? Also, are there any tips and tricks to reduce the cpu load that this handy app uses?
Thanks.

Officially, the Explorer Replacement setting is per machine rather than per user.
Unofficially, you may be able to move the registry settings for Explorer Replacement from HKLM to HKCU but I'm not sure how well it would work, and it could cause problems with roaming profiles if you logon to a machine without Opus installed.
For high CPU usage have a look in the FAQs section at the two FAQs involving "Crash/exit/100%CPU". You may find tips in there which help with generally high CPU usage, as well as crashes etc. Unless Opus is generating thumbnails or something like that it is unusual for it to be using much CPU so it's likely to be a plugin, shell extension or video codec that's using all the CPU.
Hmm, moving hklm to hlcu... which settings would need to be moved? Could it harm profiles that don't use dopus?
Sometimes in another user cllicking a desktop folder will cause an error instead of opening; I an't remember what it says... It seems to only do this the first time windows starts and stops once dopus has been loaded in a different way - any ideas?
If the registry settings go wrong it could cause a problem, but nothing you can't fix by editing the registry again. The key which controls Explorer replacement is:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\open
This is a merged view of the HKCU and HKLM keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Folder\shell\open
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Folder\shell\open
So if you turn on Explorer replacement, copy the settings to somewhere, then turn off Explorer replacement (so HKLM has it turned off) and move the settings you stored into HKCU it should work. In theory!
If you want a properly supported (and less troublesome!) solution, drop GPSoft a request.
Can't think of anything off the top of my head. Let us know what the error says and we might be able to help.
