I've searched the forum (high and low, near and far, side to side ) for an answer to my inquiry.
I've got Directory Opus v9 Licensed and already installed on my Windows 7 64-bit. My question is, how would I intall version 10 without having to uninstall version 9? I want to avoid any conficts version 10 might cause with version 9 while I'm evaluating?
You can't. There can only be one version of Opus installed on the machine.,
Opus 10 is designed to be installed over an existing version of Opus 9. Only in rare cases do you need to uninstall Opus 9 first.
You can and should perhaps however use Settings - Backup and Restore to export your current configuration to a file so you can recover this if in the unlikely event that you wish to go back to Opus.
To go back to Opus 9 you will need to uninstall Opus 10 from Control Panel Add/Remove programs then reboot and reinstall Opus 9.
I have not tried this however...
If you have v9 64bit installed could you install V10 32bit, WOW might allow both to run.
Alternatively, could you install V10 on another PC or VPC and export it to USB. You might then be able to run the V10 from USB and still keep V9 installed on the same PC.
Again not tried this.
Just do a config backup in Opus 9 in case you want to go back to it, then install Opus 10. There's no reason to have both installed at once and you can always uninstall Opus 10 and go back to Opus 9 and your config backup if you decide you want to.
